Perpetual promotes equity analysts
Perpetual Investmentshas promoted a number of its equities analysts to senior roles as part of an increase in their money management responsibilities.
Three of the analysts, Amy Somes, Max Amoedo and Charlie Lanchester presently hold portfolio management responsibilities within Perpetual’s Industrial Share Fund while the fourth, Sean Cunningham, has Industrial Share Fund responsibilities, in addition to managing 50 per cent of the Smaller Companies Fund.
Perpetual Investments chief investment officer Emilio Gonzalez says the new senior equity analysts have all signed contracts reflecting a long-term commitment to working as a team.
“The promotions are in line with our practice of developing competent portfolio managers who can deliver strong investment results, and also reflect the depth of Perpetual’s investment management team,” he says.
The senior equities analysts will work with head of Australian equities John Sevior and senior portfolio manager Matt Williams.
A new equities analyst, Maryanne Drewe, has also been recruited, with another equities analyst to be employed early in 2003.
“The recruitment of two new equity analysts will provide additional resources for our equities management team,” Gonzalez says.
Drewe spent the last two years as chief executive of Apparel Group Pty Limited, having been with the group 10 years.
