Perpetual manager wins scholarship

Perpetual's senior portfolio manager, Vivek Prabhu, has won a Hugh DT Williamson Performance Scholarship, presented by the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia).
The scholarship, which is awarded each year, acknowledges exceptional performance and achievement made by an individual within the financial services industry and grants $16,500 to be used towards the cost of attending any leadership or professional development program.
Prabhu's involvement in not-for-profit activities and his work mentoring a number of financial services professionals within Perpetual - where he works as a fixed income portfolio manager - are key reasons he has been awarded the scholarship, according to Finsia chief executive Russell Thomas .
"Importantly, Vivek has also championed the incorporation of environmental, social and governance principles within the fixed interest investment process," Thomas said. "He contributed papers and made industry presentations in his field of expertise."
Other short-listed candidates included executives from the Commonwealth Bank, Vanguard Investments Australia, Ernst & Young and RBS Morgans.
