AvivaAustralia has announced it has further enhanced its share trading functionality, with the addition of an online broker panel to its Navigator platform.

General manager of wealth management products Andrew Barker said this would allow advisers to choose from a fully integrated panel of brokers in addition to the online broker.

“The panel of brokers will make it even easier for advisers to trade and report on shares on a wrap. Advisers will also be able to tap into the expertise and research of brokers such as Shaw Stockbroking, Tolhurst and Bell Financial Group,” he said.

According to Barker, the panel was chosen by Aviva in consultation with financial advisers and allows them to retain existing relationships with their broker houses.

“Using Navigator’s adviser software, n-link, advisers can set up a default broker for all share transactions or choose a broker on a trade-by-trade basis.

“Navigator provides fully integrated, seamless functionality that enables straight-through-processing of transactions. Providing choice of broker is a key part of share trading flexibility. We expect competitors to follow Navigator’s lead in this area,” Barker said.

Shaw Stockbrokers has recently been added to the Navigator platform, while Tolhurst and Bell Financial Group are set to join next month. Goldman Sachs JBWere and Ord Minnett are expected to follow shortly after.
