Principal Global Investors creates new role for Kirk West
Principal Global Investors (PGI) has announced internal changes, appointing Andrea Muller as executive director-head of international distribution, a role previously held by Kirk West.
Muller will be responsible for all sales, relationship management and client service activities in Asia-Pacific (including Australia and Japan), Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.
It comes as West moves into the new role of executive director-head of international, where he will be responsible for all the international offices outside the United States, and CEO of Asia.
Muller joined PGI in 2010 as Asia CEO, where she built the asset management side of Principal International's joint ventures in China and Malaysia. She was previously head of Asia-Pacific at Fitch Ratings.
West's new role will mean the firm's regional CEOs will report directly to West. He joined PGI as CEO Europe, and was CEO of the Australia division between 2003 and 2005.
He was executive vice president of BT Financial Group for 12 years, until 2000.
"Both Andrea and Kirk have successfully managed a wide variety of complex challenges facing the organisation and contributed greatly to the rapid development and growth of the firm," PGI CEO Jim McCaughan said.
