Lonsec upgrades Principal fund

Research and ratings house Lonsec has upgraded the Principal Global Investors Global Opportunities Equity Fund.
Principal announced this week that the fund had been upgraded by Lonsec to a "recommended" rating.
Commenting on the upgrade, Principal Global Investors Australia chief executive, Grant Forster said it highlighted the effective blend of qualitative and quantitative processes in the Fund's strategy and the portfolio management team as key strengths.
"In an environment of low returns, the Fund provides local investors with access to global equity securities from both developed and emerging markets while actively managing the downside risk of equities investment to deliver lower volatility of returns," he said.
According to Lonsec, the Fund's ‘core' investment style coupled with the diversity in the number of stocks (60 to 100 names) held make the Fund suitable as a cornerstone ‘growth asset' in a diversified and balanced portfolio.
