Ratings upgrades to increase opportunities for Wingate AM funds

Research house, Zenith Investment Partners, has upgraded two of Wingate Asset Management's funds to ‘recommended' following its most recent review.
Wingate chief investment officer, Chad Padowitz, said the ratings upgrades would provide more Australians with access to the Wingate Global Equity Fund — Wholesale Units (unhedged) and the Wingate Global Equity Fund — Hedged funds.
"The ‘Recommended' ratings from Zenith are recognition of the success of the funds' investment strategy and the benefits it can deliver," he said.
"These ratings mean many more Australian investors will now have the opportunity to invest in the funds.
"Investing internationally provides Australians with access to a broader investment opportunity set, allowing investment in sectors that are not well-represented in the Australian market.
"Global investing also brings portfolio diversification benefits, as international markets are not perfectly correlated to the Australian market.
"The Funds are designed to reduce losses, preserve capital and produce consistent positive returns over the long-term.
"Despite the Funds' high conviction approach to stock selection, they provide sufficient diversification across industries and countries and can be used as a core exposure to international equities in an overall portfolio."
