QIC appoints UK director for global fixed income
Australian wholesale fund manager, QIC, has appointed Paul Nicholson as its UK director of global fixed income and absolute return.
Nicholson would be responsible for diversifying and expanding QIC's global liquid strategies across international markets. He would also focus on alpha generation across the UK, Europe and the US, the investment company said.
Nicholson would be based in London and report to QIC's managing director, global liquid strategies, Susan Buckley.
Nicholson was previously the head of fixed income and absolute return for Vontobel Asset Management in Zurich. As lead portfolio manager for their absolute return bond fund, he grew their assets under management from $350 million to $1.1 billion in three years.
He also had a strong background in credit, foreign exchange strategy, derivativies and portfolio management, while he also worked in London, Hong Kong and Zurich.
"Paul has a wealth of experience in fixed income and absolute return investing that will be of immense value to QIC," Buckley said.
He was due to commence his UK-based role in the coming months.
