Martin received the gong for his role in guiding BTFM through a change of owner-ship. He beat other candidates including Rothschild’s Peter Martin, Perpetual’s Gerard Dougherty, Credit Suisse’s Brian Thomas and Colonial First State’s Chris Cuffe.
Speaking at the awards presentation last night, Martin said BT was doing some-thing “few others are doing” by running its global investment team from Australia.
“I think we are demonstrating that you can do it,” he said.
Other award winners include Aussie Home Loans managing director John Symond who won the publisher’s award for Best Millennium Personality.
