Future 2 grants process opens

The Future 2 Foundation has called on financial planners to support applications from their local organisations for grants from the foundation.
The foundation announced this week that four or more grants of up to $10,000 each would be made by Future2 this year to community organisations working to give a better future to young Australians struggling with homelessness, addictions, social exclusion, disability or unemployment.
It said charities and not-for-profit organisations were eligible to apply for the grants, with the closing date being 31 July.
However it pointed out that all such applications had to have the support of a financial advice professional who is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) or the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA).
Commenting on the opening of the 2012 process, Future2 Grants Committee chair Corinna Dieters called on financial advice professionals to support grant applications from local organisations.
"Your support may result in a grant that will transform the circumstances of needy young people and put them on the road to fulfilling and productive lives," she said.
Since Future2 was established in 2007, the foundation has granted over $200,000 to 17 not-for-profit and charitable organisations across Australia.
