Specialist financial services administration provider Praemium has started a beta trial for a new self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) compliance product.

The company announced to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) this week that the first stage of the project would enable existing portfolio administrator (V-Wrap) users to capture and maintain important fund details such as member, tax agent and auditor information for existing or new investment portfolios.

It said the beta trial followed extensive client focus group sessions involving existing Praemium customers and accounted for more than 1,000 SMSF portfolios.

The company's announcement said subsequent releases would deliver a complete SMSF compliance solution entirely within the Praemium system.

Commenting on the development, Praemium chief executive Michael Ohanessian said the company had listened to its clients and the new solution reflected that exercise.
