Big academic-based industry fund UniSuper has appointed a new national manager for employer relationships.

The fund announced last week that it had appointed former Macquarie Group executive, Julie Stockton to the role.

Confirming the appointment last week, UniSuper executive manager, advice and employer relationships, Jack McCartney said Stockton brought more than 20 years of experience to the role.

He also linked the appointment to UniSuper's upcoming launch of a comprehensive income product for retirement saying that employer relationships had never been more important to the fund.
