SuperFriend announces new director

SuperFriend has appointed AustSafe Super’s chief executive, Craig Stevens, as fund representative director (non-executive), effective from May 2018.
Stevens would bring more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, working across superannuation, group risk and investment management.
He was also well across SuperFriend’s work to reduce the impact of mental illness, with many AustSafe Super employees having undergone SuperFriend’s mental health and wellbeing training.
“I am very proud to be joining SuperFriend’s board and believe that the finance industry’s current challenges have created a pivotal moment for organisations in the sector to seize the opportunities that come when workplaces put people at the centre of everything they do,” Stevens said.
Stevens had also previously served as a member of SuperFriend’s nominations committee, assisting the board in identifying and appointing directors.
SuperFriend chief executive, Margo Lydon, cited Stevens’ commitment to SuperFriend’s mental health focus as a benefit to the board.
“We warmly welcome Craig to the board. His commitment to the mental health of his own employees shows that he will not only bring business strategy and corporate governance expertise but will be a great champion for the value of a well workforce.”
