Perpetual Investments has announced the appointment of a manager for the Perpetual Wholesale Share-Plus Long/Short Fund.

Paul Skamvougeras joins Perpetual from CPH/Ellerston Capital where he spent more than seven years managing a long/short global equity portfolio.

The group executive of business services and chief operating officer of Australian equities, Cathy Doyle, said the appointment is in line with Perpetual’s focus on enhancing its long/short capabilities.

The short-side investment process for the Wholesale Share-Plus Long/Short Fund was managed by Vasant Khilnani, who recently retired.

Perpetual has also appointed Rosemary Tan as an equities analyst within its Australian equities fundamental asset management team. She most recently worked as an equities analyst for Platinum Asset Management’s Asia Fund, covering stocks across China and Hong Kong. Doyle said her focus would be on a range of small cap stocks and international stocks, particularly in Asia.
