Pengana Capital appoints senior portfolio manager
Pengana Capital has appointed Elan Miller senior portfolio manager of its Australian Equities Market Neutral Fund.
For the past 16 years he has worked as a portfolio manager primarily across hedge funds in Australia and offshore. He has been a portfolio manager with Pengana for eight years and for the past few months has been assisting the Australian equities team.
Miller will now be responsible for the daily implementation of the investment strategy, which consists of alpha generation and checking, trade implementation and execution, and trade analysis with a particular focus on portfolio and risk monitoring.
Pengana chief executive Russel Pillemer said the equities fund would benefit from Miller's extensive hedge fund experience across various markets.
The fund's director of portfolio management and strategy, Phil Boustridge, added: "We had been seeking to fill this important role for a while, and after working with Elan over the past few months we are convinced that he is the ideal choice."
