New Australian MD for Mercer
There has been a key change at the top of Mercer's Australian operation, with long-serving managing director and market leader, David Anderson, being promoted and replaced by Ben Walsh in the role.
The change was announced by Mercer's president and chief executive , Julio A Portalatin who said Anderson had been promoted to the role of President, Growth Markets Region — a region that includes Latin America, Asia, Middle East and Africa.
The company's formal announcement quoted Mercer's EuroPac Region president, Simon O'Regan, as saying the Pacific Market was large and critically important for Mercer.
"David's promotion acknowledges the great results he and the team have achieved in Australia and New Zealand and reflects his ability to lead our teams to anticipate and respond to marketplace shifts that impact our clients and customers," he said.
Walsh has been with Marsh & McLennan Companies since 1994 and joined Mercer in 2000. He has been the Leader of Mercer's Financial Services business for the Pacific and a member of the Mercer Pacific Leadership Team.
