MetLife has announced Statewide Super’s current chief executive officer (CEO), Richard Nunn, would become their new CEO for Australia, effective 1 May 2019.

Nunn would bring over 30 years’ financial services experience across wealth management and banking in Australia and Asia, with roles at NAB, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, IOOF and AXA also on his resume.

Chair of MetLife Australia, Geoff Brunsdon, said Nunn’s financial services experience and proven ability to deliver growth would make him a great fit for the life insurer.

“MetLife continues to gather momentum in Australia, recently expanding into the retail market and winning the multi-million dollar Tasplan tender,” said Brunsdon. “I am confident Richard will continue to build on that momentum and deliver our vision of giving people the fastest, easiest and most caring life insurance experience.”

Vince Watt, MetLife’s chief financial officer, would continue as acting CEO until Nunn commences his new role in May.
