Invesco Australiahas appointed Gordon Glasfurd to the position of retail sales manager in NSW.

Glasfurd entered the Sydney-based position on September 30, reporting to head of sales and marketing Peter Hodgson, and joining a sales team comprised of Mark Jackson, Bella Church and Ty Thurgood.

Most recently Glasfurd was employed bySMF Funds Managementas a business development manager, where he was responsible for growing funds under management through corporate mandates, developing and maintaining commercial relationships, and building an intermediary distribution network.

Head of sales and marketing Peter Hodgson believes Glasfurd’s “experience with intermediaries in New South Wales and his extensive knowledge of the industry” will be valuable in Invesco Australia’s strategy to move forward.

Glasfurd’s appointment is one of many at Invesco this year, continuing an extended period of staffing changes at the fund manager.

The most notable changes include the departure of Michael Parsons as chief executive officer of Invesco Australia and the subsequent appointment of Mark Amour to the role in September. Other appointments include Aaron Finlay as head of finance, Peter Hodgson as head of sales and marketing, Peter Osborne as head of economics, Mark Jackson as regional sales manager and Tracey Franks as senior marketing manager.

Glasfurd has held various business development and marketing roles in Australia and Europe since 1993.
