ETF Securities has expanded its workforce with a business development manager and senior execs hired amid market growth.

Larry Achike joined the firm in the business development team after heading sales and business development at Surgicore Australia.

Mathew Knapman joined the team as an assistant portfolio manager, having previously spent over three years at Morningstar Australasia across data, operations and product roles.

The newcomers joined Nicola Culey, who joined earlier this year, working across both the sales and research teams, and Amelia Serdoz, who joined last month as a marketing analyst.

Chief executive of the firm, Kris Walesby, said the business had more than doubled its headcount since its launch in 2015, which he said was a testament to the fact that it was doing the “right thing in the right part of the market”.

“ETFs are the fastest growing product type in Australia, with funds under management posting annual growth of nearly 22 per cent to more than $40 billion at the end of October,” he said.
