Aon Hewitt has appointed a new Asia-Pacific leadership team by promoting Stewart Fotheringham and Steven Gaffney from within its senior ranks.

Fotheringham was named chief executive officer, consulting Asia Pacific, while Gaffney assumes the role of chief executive officer, consulting, Pacific, effective immediately.

The two executives have been promoted from within Aon Hewitt, with Fotheringham having served 29 years at the company, most recently presiding as chief executive officer, Pacific.

Gaffney has been named as Fotheringham’s successor, promoted from his most recent role as Aon Hewitt chief commercial officer, Australia.

“I’m pleased to welcome Stewart to the role, and look forward to working more closely with him as an important member of the Global Consulting Executive Committee”, said Aon Hewitt Global CEO Yvan Legris.

“Stewart has had great success in collaborating across business lines in Australia and will apply the same approach throughout Asia, building on the strong partnership that currently exists amongst Aon’s various business units.”

Exiting Asia Pacific CEO Edouard Merette resigned from the role to pursue other career opportunities.
