AMP man joins APRA executive

The Federal Government has appointed the chairman of the board audit committee of AMP Life, Ian Laughlin, as a member of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) succeeding John Trowbridge.

Laughlin’s appointment was announced by the Minister for Financial Services, Chris Bowen, who said Laughlin would ensure the APRA executive continued to have significant insurance expertise.

Laughlin, who is a qualified actuary, has served as the managing director of the United Kingdom subsidiaries of AMP Financial Services and held senior management positions in Suncorp and National Mutual.
