PIMCO funds given improved ratings


Research house, Zenith Investment Partners, has rerated two PIMCO wholesale funds bumping their ratings upwards from "Recommended" to "Highly Recommended".
Zenith stated the PIMCO EQT Wholesale Australian Bond Fund and the PIMCO EQT Wholesale Australian Focus Fund were well managed and the investment teams were held in high regard.
"Our conviction in the strategies has increased, reflecting the strong calibre of the domestic investment team and its continued ability to draw upon the insights and expertise of PIMCO's diverse and highly experienced global team," Zenith said.
PIMCO, head of portfolio management - Australia, Robert Mead said the two funds had been through a full market cycle and have outperformed with low benchmark-like volatility with consistency of income generation.
The PIMCO EQT Wholesale Australian Bond Fund has delivered a net of fee return of 6.73 per cent per annum over the past 10 years while the PIMCO EQT Wholesale Australian Focus Fund delivered a net of fee return of 5.19 per cent per annum. over the past 5 years, to 30 June 2015.
