IMCA calls for CIMA scholarship applications
Applications are open for what is widely regarded as one of the leading professional development courses for investment consultants and analysts - the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) scholarship.
The CIMA program has run for 20 years in the US, and was first offered in Australia in 2001. The CIMA program has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of investment consultants and researchers. The program is also relevant to superannuation fund executives and 'client-facing' fund management executives.
This year, the Investment Management Consultants Association Australia (IMCA) is offering four CIMA scholarships.
"Seven years ago, there was a real gap in the market for specialist education and professional development for investment consultants and retail investment analysts," said IMCA Australia director and co-ordinator of IMCA's education committee Angela Ashton. "This course fills that gap."
BlackRock Investment Management has again teamed up with IMCA to sponsor the CIMA scholarship for retail researchers, valued at approximately $5,500.
In addition, AMP Capital is offering a CIMA scholarship for investment consultants, with the Fund Executive Associations Ltd (FEAL) offering two scholarships to its fund executive members.
The CIMA course runs fromSunday, September 20 to Friday, September 25.
Applications for the CIMA scholarships close on April 15, 2009.
