He noted that not only did the delegates seem to be at least a decade younger than those regularly seen at CMSF, but that their responses to some traditional industry fund policy issues where not altogether what might have been traditionally expected.

Outsider cites the case of a live polling question directed to the audience of a session dealing with the default fund environment where they were asked whether the Fair Work Commission should be integral to the process.

Despite the continued involvement of the FWC being integral to industry funds policy, 65 per cent voted "no" to the proposition.

Outsider cannot remember such a contrary vote occurring at previous industry funds conferences and he suspects a number of people are still wondering whether it was an aberration or a sign of the times.
