Simon McKeon joins AMP as non-executive director

Macquarie Group (Melbourne) executive chairman Simon McKeon has joined the AMP board as non-executive director.

Currently specialising in mergers and acquisitions at Macquarie, he is also chairman of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.

His previous roles include solicitor with Blake Dawson Waldron in Sydney and chairman of MYOB.

He was made an officer of the Order of Australia in 2012 for distinguished service to business and commerce through leadership and advisory roles, and to the community as a supporter of national and international charitable, educational and sporting organisations.

AMP also announced that Dr Nora Scheinkestel will retire from the board at the next annual general meeting after nine years in the role.
