SFG Australia company secretary and chief financial officer, Linda Fox, is departing the company to take up a position at the Commonwealth Bank.

Fox's departure comes barely a week after it was announced that SFG Australia would be acquired by IOOF.

Fox's departure was announced to the Australian Securities Exchange today, with SFG managing director, Tony Fenning, saying that Andrew Crowther had accepted a contract position to step into the role as CFO and see through the IOOF transaction.

SFG Australia's head of legal, Jonathan Swain will assume the role of Company Secretary.

Crowther is a former chief financial officer and general manager at Colonial First State.
