Laband had been at NAM for about five years and left a few months after it was an-nounced that National would acquire the funds management business of MLC. Prior to his role at NAM, Laband was managing director of Abbey life Investment Services in the UK.

Laband joins Towers Perrin as the investment director of TRM, Towers Perrin’s spe-cialist adviser to large superannuation funds. Clients of TRM include the $10.4 billion Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme (CSS) and Public Service Superannuation Scheme (PSS).
