Harris moves from CommInsure to Guardian
Asteron-owned advice business Guardian Financial Planning has recruited Simon Harris from CommInsure and appointed him to the role of executive manager.
In his new role, he will be tasked with developing and implementing Guardian’s three-to-five year strategy and working closely with its existing base of advisers, according to Asteron executive general manager Jordan Hawke.
“Simon will define that plan and structure the business to align with the strategy which will then be executed,” Hawke said.
“Obviously, Guardian is an aligned [Authorised Financial Services Licensee] under the Suncorp Life business and we have a number of key advisers in this sector, and we also want to grow the business,” Hawke said.
Harris was previously head of national accounts at CommInsure, where he oversaw CommInsure’s key account relationships — a role he held since 2006.
Harris will commence his new role at Guardian Financial Planning in January 2011, and will report directly to Hawke.
CommInsure stated it had not found a replacement for Harris' role as yet, and would commence its search after Christmas.
