FKP Property Group has appointed David Hunt as its new chief financial officer (CFO). Hunt was previously CFO of ING Real Estate Investment Management.

Hunt has also been the group financial controller and finance manager at Zurich Financial Services, and group finance manager at Legal and General Australia. He has more than 20 years experience in the industry.

Chief executive Peter Brown said he was pleased Hunt joined the firm as it pursued growth across both residential land and its retirement portfolio.

FKP was in a strong financial position and will be able to develop fresh opportunities in the residential market, Brown said.

Outgoing CFO Darryl Guihot will continue at FKP until the end of the financial year to ensure a smooth transition.

Hunt will assume his role on April 11.
