Coin Financial Software has announced a change of senior management, as the head of Coin, Robert McCabe, moves into a new role within Macquarie Banking and Financial Services Group.

Kirk Pitman will replace McCabe as the new head of coin product and technology. Pitman joined Macquarie in December 2009 to lead the mortgage intermediary investment team. He also led the project that allowed Vow Financial to be established. Pitman has since played a crucial role in building technology platforms in Macquarie Adviser Services.

Before joining Macquarie, Pitman was responsible for the mortgage intermediary strategy and channel development at St George Bank. He also worked for consulting firm Accenture in Asia and Australia, and was a human resources consultant specialising in organisational design.

Commenting on the appointment, Macquarie Adviser Services executive director Frank Ganis said, "Kirk Pitman has a high level of technical knowledge and a sound understanding of Macquarie clients. I am certain he will be able to take Coin to the next level and continue to understand and address out clients' needs."

Pitman will spend the next few months meeting Coin clients with Robert McCabe before the official handover on 1 October.
