Australian Ethical expands team
Australian Ethical has announced a number of appointments to its investment, ethics and marketing team in response to its growing funds under management (FUM) as ethical investing becomes increasingly mainstream.
The firm has appointed Deana Mitchell as its new equity analyst, Amanda Richman as new ethics analyst and Dimity Macdonald as head of communications.
These senior female appointments came on the back of Australian Ethical’s attainment of 50 per cent gender representation on the Australian Ethical Investment Board, it said.
Australian Ethical Investments’ managing director, Phil Vernon said: “We are a purpose-driven business and people are highly motivated to join us because our work is having a long term positive impact”
“We believe a financial system based purely on the pursuit of profits or financial returns is not enough. A new model is needed where all decisions are made conscious of their broader impact on the world around us.
“Our employees tell us they feel very connected to a business that is so aligned to their values,” he said.
Australian Ethical Investment currently manages more than $2.6 billion in funds in accordance with its Ethical Charter.
