AMP’s Doyle to be new CEO of REST

A former AMP senior executive has been appointed to head up one of Australia’s largest industry superannuation funds, REST

The board of REST announced on Friday that former AMP Director, Superannuation, Retirement and Investments, Vicki Doyle, had been appointed as the fund’s chief executive, effective from the beginning of next.

Prior to being recruited by AMP, Doyle was with BT for two years after being recruited from a nine-year sting at Suncorp.

Commenting on the appointment, REST chairman, Ken Marshman said Doyle’s record spoke for itself.

“Vicki brings to REST extensive executive leadership experience and a track record in superannuation advocacy. She is a member of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) Super System Design Policy Council and is also on the Financial Services Council (FSC) Superannuation Board Committee.”

Doyle succeeds the long-serving Damian Hill in the REST chief executive role.

What could a executive from AMP a pure for profit fund offer a Industry Fund who try so hard to differentiate themselves from retail super by being not for profit? They are major hypocrites........the lot of them.

TJ, maybe she just wants to lead an executive team in a field where she has had a lot of experience, superannuation, allocated pensions and personal insurances. Really, the core offering is pretty much the same whether it is a not-for-profit or otherwise.

Also there isn't too many CEO roles out their, especially with companies that have $45b plus in assets under management? Perhaps, they made her a better offer than AMP (who have two rather large retailers as corporate super accounts!).

TJ, it might be an idea in the future to count to ten before posting in the future, or a least get a better understanding of the sector/world before posting again.

Oh I must have hit a raw nerve there Terrance, not related are you? Get a better understanding indeed, I understand a lot thats why I know they are a bunch of hypocrites. Ive been around the block or should I say BLOC a few times Terry old chap. Ps I counted to 20 this time, just for you. All the best.

TJ, great to hear you're heeding my advice. All the best to you as well.
