AIA Australia has appointed Sam Tremethick as national manager, strategic partnerships to provide support to the group's dealership and platform partners.

He will join the newly formed team consisting of national dealership manager David Tilley and national client and dealership development manager Am Mitchell.

Tremethick has more than 15 years experience in retail distribution and was most recently at MLC - Aviva - where he held a number of senior roles in distribution strategy and licensee development.

With the addition of Tremethick, AIA has so far made 15 hires to its retail team, as the insurer continues to make the structural changes it announced in late 2011.

AIA Australia chief executive Peter Crewe said the company was committed to investing in processes to help its partners to grow their business.
