Zenith's alternatives team pulls new planner groups

A number of new adviser groups have signed on with Zenith Investment Partners on the strength of its alternatives team, according to head of sales and marketing John Nicoll.
Financial Foundations Australia and Robert Lipman & Associates (formerly the wealth advisory division of Investec Bank) have joined the group, as well as Premium Wealth Management-affiliated businesses SWU and Matthews Steer.
A number of smaller financial planner groups including LifeWealth in Melbourne have also chosen Zenith as their research partner in the last couple of months, Nicoll said.
He claimed Zenith's alternatives team had a knack for sourcing new long/short portfolios.
"Zenith's alternatives team is the largest in the Australian market and has unearthed several excellent long/short funds over the past few years that have significantly lowered the volatility of client portfolios, whilst delivering excellent outperformance in a very difficult market," he said.
Its model portfolio service had provided further impetus for financial planning groups to join Zenith, Nicoll said.
He said growth had facilitated the appointment of two new researchers and larger premises, which the researcher would move into in the coming weeks.
Additional new clients would soon be announced, he said.
