The financial planning division of Salomon Smith Barney’s (SSB) private clients arm has signed up with Sealcorp’s dealer-to-dealer services, boosting the range of tools available to the stockbroking firm’s network of advisers.
The arrangement will see SSB advisers gain access to the full suite of financial planning products in the Sealcorp range, includingAssirtsoftware,Asgardresearch and other technical and paraplanning services.
SSB’s head of private clients Brian McKenna says Sealcorp’s dealer-to-dealer service will help the group improve the consistency of its delivery of products to clients, particularly in terms of reporting.
“SSB has a number of financial planners among its 160 financial consultants, and they can now deliver a far more comprehensive and professional service,” McKenna says.
SSB has also signed its advisers up to access the Desk Caddie online resource package, which provides up to date technical information and financial planning strategies through Sealcorp’s AdviserNET online system.
Sealcorp director of distribution and sales Dan Powell says a further 10 dealer groups are poised to sign up to the Sealcorp dealer-to-dealer service in the wake of the SSB announcement.
Sealcorp already offers its dealer-to-dealer service to 47 dealer groups and some 250 proper authority holders.
