Wealthpoint’sflagship stand-alone financial planning software product, Assirt Desktop, has securedRoyal & SunAlliance(R&SA) as a new institutional client.

R&SA’s dealer group Camwal, with 40 advisers, will use the software to improve its workflow, customer contact and planning systems. Camwal, which owns subsidiaryCameron Walshe, was bought by R&SA in June 2001.

Sealcorp associate director and head of dealer sales Tim Gunning says there is still substantial interest in such stand-alone products despite the market being flooded with Web-based software products.

“Despite all the talk about web-delivered solutions, we’re still finding a huge amount of interest in Assirt Desktop,” he says.

The latest contract with R&SA follows an earlier one secured with Westpac, which has taken out 200 licenses for its dealer groups.

Camwal general manager Doug Kirkman says a comprehensive tender process was undertaken before Assirt Desktop was selected.

“It won the tender as the stand out in a competitive market due to the comprehensive nature of its software and calculators.],” he says.
