New MD brings Fidelity to Australian arm

Gerard Doherty
Fund management firm Fidelity International today announced Gerard Doherty as managing director of its Australian subsidiary, Fidelity Investments Australia.
Bringing plenty of wealth management business experience to Fidelity, Doherty will join the company in January next year after a career spanning more than 14 years with Perpetual, where he was responsible for Perpetual Investments, Perpetual Private Clients and PI Investment Management.
Fidelity International, which manages over $330 billion in assets worldwide, expects Doherty’s impressive credentials and management capabilities will be a huge asset to the company.
In a statement, Fidelity International president Asia Pacific Brett Goodin said Doherty joins the company at an exciting time of growth in its investment product line up following the introduction of a range of international equity funds and extensions in the institutional space.
“I am confident that Gerard will continue to build on this history and drive our Australian business to the next level of success,” he said.
