New BNP Paribas trust targets environmental markets
BNP Paribas Investment Partners has launched the Impax Environmental Markets Trust.
The trust uses a thematic approach aimed at providing long-term capital growth by investing in companies that are developing products and services to “mitigate and solve some of the world’s most pressing environmental problems”, according to BNP Paribas head of retail distribution Peter McPhee.
It focuses on three key environmental sub-sectors where manager Impax Asset Management has built up extensive specialist knowledge and expertise, McPhee said in a Responsible Investment Association Australia newsletter.
These sub-sectors are alternative energy and energy efficiency, water treatment and pollution control, and waste technology and resource management, he said.
