Morningstar announces research team changes
Research and ratings house, Morningstar has announced some key appointments within its research team.
The company announced it had appointed Tom Whitelaw as Director of Manager Research Ratings, working alongside Tim Murphy, Director of Manager Research.
The company’s announcement said that both Murphy and Whitelaw would report to Grant Kennaway, Director of Manager Research, Asia-Pacific, with Whitelaw being responsible for chairing Morningstar’s ratings committee and managing the research team and schedule.
It said Murphy would be responsible for leading the firm’s manager research services, which include investment committee participation, approved product list management, and analyst access relationships.
At the same time, Morningstar said Chris Douglas had been promoted to a new role leading the company’s American regional data team, meaning he would relocate to Morningstar’s Chicago headquarters in September.
