MLC appoints new sales manager

MLC has re-hired Russell Hannah and appointed him to the newly created role of general manager, retail advised insurance sales, where he will be responsible for overseeing distribution and sales operations as well as other specialist insurance functions along with sales analytics and insights.
Hannah is returning to MLC after spending two years at BT Life, where he was responsible for leading a specialist insurance sales team. Prior to this, he held a number of national insurance sales roles, including the AVIVA and MLC businesses between 2008 and 2014.
MLC general manager of retail advised insurance, Melissa Heyhoe, said that this was a key appointment for the business as the company was in the process of moving to become a standalone life insurance company.
"As we transition into a specialist insurance business, it's imperative that we have end-to-end ownership and accountability for the way our business services and supports advisers. Russell's appointment will ensure we are at the forefront of driving organisational and broader industry change,"
"Russell's extensive industry knowledge and experience, combined with his proven track record in leading and developing high performance teams, means he is perfectly placed to lead our business through this exciting of growth and transformation," she said.
