Link Group merges key capabilities
Link Group had announced it will restructure its financial advice business to bring the Link Advice and Advisor Network capabilities into one business, appointing Duncan McPherson to lead both the integration and next phase of growth.
The merger would follow Link Group’s acquisition of Adviser Network last year, through which it accumulated all the component parts to provide end-to-end advice.
Chief executive of Link Fund Administration, Suzanne Holden, said that the value of superannuation funds to members would be improved by offering financial advice capabilities.
“Bringing our market leading digital advice capabilities together with our experience and expertise in telephone and face to face advice, we are well positioned to help the superannuation industry to provide affordable and accessible advice options to its members.”
McPherson joined Link Group as part of the Adviser Network acquisition in June, last year, and was excited about his new role.
“I am delighted to have been appointed as CEO of Link Advice. We have two great businesses with complementary strengths. By combining our teams we’ll be able to capture their collective experience and knowledge to help more Australians access affordable advice,” he said.
Current CEO of Link Advice, Ross Bowden, would assist with the transition before leaving Link at the end of June.
