Kaplan expands course specialisation to meet adviser needs
Kaplan has unveiled new specialisations and elective subjects as advisers seek increasingly technical content to improve their practice.
These can be applied to students studying for the Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Master of Applied Finance courses, and students can select up to two specialisations as part of their studies.
Their development follows consultation by Kaplan with industry experts and corporate organisations to understand the needs of the space.
Kaplan CEO Brian Knight said the new courses have been designed to address skills shortages and industry demands.
“The skill sets required in the field of finance have been evolving rapidly due to changes in technology, regulations and the global economic landscape,” he said.
“At a national level, there is also growing demand for finance professionals who possess in-depth technical knowledge and skills in business intelligence and project management across a diverse range of industries.
“The business intelligence specialisation is suitable for finance professionals seeking to develop the knowledge and assess the viability of projects, identify and plan for potential risks, and organise adequate financing to ensure projects can be delivered on time and within budget,” he explained.
The new specialisations are:
- Business Intelligence
- Project Management
Kaplan already offers two existing specialisations in corporate finance and investment analysis.
The new elective subjects are:
- FIN360 Project Management Fundamentals (Project Management specialisation)
- FIN361 Applied Project Management (Project Management specialisation)
- FIN362 Project Risk, Finance and Monitoring (Project Management specialisation)
- FIN370 Introduction to Data Analytics (Business Intelligence specialisation)
- FIN371 Applied Business Analytics (Business Intelligence specialisation)
- FIN372 Data-Driven Design Thinking (Business Intelligence specialisation)
Both the Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Master of Applied Finance courses are offered in a fully online capacity.
Kaplan Professional has six annual intakes, and the final intake for 2023 (Study Period 6) commences on 30 October.
