How the survey was conducted
This is the second annualMoney ManagementAgribusiness Survey and we believe it is still the only widely published listing of projects that includes financial details.
The survey table was based on research undertaken byLonsecAlternative Research Group, with additional data supplied by AdviserEdge Investment Research.
The table includes almost all the agribusiness managed investment schemes that were available in mid-February.
Lonsec e-mailed promoters with questionnaires to create data for the survey and AdviserEdge sourced the data from its own research files.
However, some promoters failed to complete the questionnaires or could not be traced, and have not been included in the survey. Some managers are also finalising their 2003 projects, so therefore were not included.
The agribusiness sector has now grown into a significant segment of the funds management industry.
Money Managementbelieves that by publishing such a survey, it will enable financial planners to check quickly what is available for their clients and run simple comparisons between schemes.
Financial planners, however, should seek quality independent research on individual schemes before making recommendations to their clients. The survey will be published again next year.
