Fund managers wake up to the Internet
Fund managers have woken up to the benefits of the Internet and are finally building up traffic to their Web sites.
AMP, Citibank and Your Prosperity have emerged as the fastest growing financial services web sites eclipsing the like of Commonwealth Securities and E*Trade.
AMP leads the charge with an increase of 258 per cent. Following closely behind is Citibank and Your Prosperity with 249 per cent and 226 per cent respectively.
A recent report released by eRatings.com says that interest in the financial services industry is mounting at a rapid pace.
The most visited financial services web site, the Commonwealth Bank, has attracted more than 300,000 in a subscription audience to its site. Commonwealth's staggering number has overshadowed fellow members of the banking fraternity, with Westpac recording a subscription audience of 271,000 and ANZ with 232,000.
However the performance of Commonwealth Securities, Sandford Securities and E*Trade fell drastically by the wayside. Commonwealth Securities recorded -4 per cent, with Sandford Securities at -8 per cent. E*Trade recorded the lowest performance change with - 11 per cent. Although the increases in audience numbers appears greater for the funds management groups, the broking sites remain some of the most visited financial services web sites.
