Expert panel to debate PI
With sourcing professional indemnity insurance front and centre as an issue for financial planning practices, Money Management together with its sister publication, Lawyers Weekly, has convened a forum in which the major players can discuss the issues.
The breakfast forum, to be held in Sydney on 26 September, will bring together the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), the PI insurers, legal experts and dealer group heads to discuss the challenges currently confronting the industry.
The key issues to be discussed include:
- Who is responsible for the advice of failed dealer groups?
- Should financial advisers be responsible for advice regarding product failures?
- The future viability of professional indemnity insurers for the financial planning industry.
- How to get a better outcome from the FOS process.
- The implication for both the insurance and financial services profession.
Our experienced panel of business leaders will then debate the key issues and engage the audience in proposing solutions and envisaging what the industry might be like over the next three years.
This promises to be an enlightening and highly engaging forum where you will hear about the latest developments in this space.
