Super Concepts has launched an awareness campaign to encourage more people to consider the option of retirement savings plans, according to director Chris Wilson.

"The information kit we have produced is aimed at advisers and their clients to take an objective view of DIY superannuation," he says.

The information kit, which has been developed in conjunction with BT, Colonial First State and Mercantile Mutual, contains an updated version of Super Concepts DIY super book and an offer of a free assessment to see if the recipient could create their own fund.

"Apart from an awareness campaign, it is also an educational exercise for DIY super," Wilson says.

If people take up the assessment offer, Wilson hopes it will lead to Super Con-cepts creating a DIY fund for the recipient and that some of their investment will go with the three fund managers.

The kit is being supported with an advertising campaign which is aimed at inves-tors with $100,000 or more tied up with the conventionally managed superannua-tion system.

Wilson says the campaign comes at a time when the big financial institutions are taking more interest in the DIY market and offering products tailored to that client-base.
