ANZ head-hunts Tracy Ong

ANZ has managed to head-hunt Tracy Ong away from Bank of America Merrill Lynch and appoint her as Chief Representative, ANZ Malaysia.

The big banking group announced the appointment this week, pointing out that Ong had been Managing Director, Head of Corporate Banking for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Malaysia.

Commenting on the move, ANZ chief executive for Singapore and Malaysia, Vishnu Shahaney said Ong's extensive experience in corporate banking and debt capital markets in Malaysia combined with her deep relationships in the industry would be an asset for customers looking to grow their businesses in the region.

"Malaysia is a key market for ANZ. The Representative Office in Kuala Lumpur is integral to supporting and growing the Group's capabilities outside Malaysia," he said.
