Kelly O’Dwyer – Parliamentary Secretary to the Federal Treasurer

 

Kelly O’Dwyer is one the up and coming members of the Federal Government and epitomises the manner in which women can effectively manage both family and career as she successfully manages her role as a Parliamentary Secretary with raising her first child, Olivia, born earlier this year.

Kelly was elected to Federal Parliament in December 2009 at the age of 32 to represent the seat of Higgins, following the retirement of former Federal Treasurer the Hon Peter Costello AC. On 23 December 2014, Kelly was sworn in as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer.

In 1979, Sarina combined inspiration and desperation to open a small typing school with just nine students. On graduation, she promised all the students jobs and she delivered.

Gladys Berejiklian knows what it is to have pursued a successful career in financial services and to have then moved into the political sphere.
Armed with a Master of Commerce, The Treasurer was an executive within the Commonwealth Bank for five years before making the switch to politics.
It is this background which has given her an acute awareness of the challenges confronting women with respect to wealth accumulation and retirement incomes adequacy.
