Financial services legal firm, The Fold, has indicated it is expanding, with a new hire to help the firm form strategy and direction around the way it services its clients.

Emma Zadow joins the firm as head of clients and innovation from Corrs Chambers Westgarth, where she also looked after client strategy.

The Fold's managing director, Claire Wivell Plater, said the appointment comes at a time when technology and the financial services industry are going through continuous change.

The hire comes after the formation of a partnership between The Fold and Perpetual, where the legal firm was appointed as Perpetual Private's partner to offer accountants a licensing solution as the removal of the accountants exemption to advise on self-managed super funds looms closer.

Under the partnership, the legal firm will offer accountants support to find the right licensing arrangement for them, and train them on Australian financial services regulatory requirements.

The Fold also announced its senior lawyer Jaime Lumsden Kelly has become a shareholder and been promoted to solicitor director, while current solicitor director, Charmian Homes has increased her shareholding.

The Fold is also looking to hire senior lawyers in its Brisbane and Sydney offices, and a paralegal in the Sydney office.
