Joint head of Perpetual's Quantitative Investments (Quant) Ganesh Suntharam will take over full management of the business when co-head Vasant Khilnani departs Perpetual in 2010.

Suntharam, who has been at Perpetual Investments for four years, joined Khilnani as joint head in March this year following three years managing Perpetual's Quant funds.

Suntharam has been transitioned into the management role by Khilnani, who is leaving to pursue "a series of personal goals outside the industry".

The transition process since March saw Suntharam and Khilnani building the Quant team's resources and "enhancing the core Quant business".

Suntharam will manage a team of seven, and in future will add to the number with the appointment of a new portfolio manager.
