MetLife appoints Stephen Sefton as head of group product
Global insurance giant MetLife has appointed Stephen Sefton as head of group product, with a focus on developing products complementing member-focused initiatives in claims management, early intervention, digital experience, and health and well-being.
Sefton joins MetLife from MLC, where he held the role of head of group insurance product and strategy.
He previously spent 10 years at First State Super and prior to that held the role of manager and fund secretary for the Ampol and Caltex Group Superannuation Fund.
Sefton will report to MetLife head of reinsurance and regulatory affairs, James Carey.
“MetLife is the third largest provider of group insurance in the Australian market and we provide protection to approximately 2.6 million Australians. That’s a great responsibility and we’re committed to continually evolving our products to ensure they meet the changing needs of our customers,” Carey said.
“I’m very pleased that someone with such a strong track record and reputation has joined us to drive the future of our group product offering.”
